parts of virginia and west virginia have gotten up to 3 inches of rainfall. so we've got pretty active weather out there. do be careful. there is a lot of areas that have been flooded as well so it's not safe to drive into anything that you think is going to be okay. definitely not. let's take a look at truview. we're going to show you how rapidly all of this is moving. about 30 to 40 miles per hour is the speed of most of the storms as they head their way through. we have areas that have a lot of heavy rainfall in them and a lot of the lightning as well. if you look back here you'll see another swath of rainfall still yet to follow. so we are not out of the clear in terms of tonight or even into tomorrow. let's go to our weather maps then. we still have a flood warning in effect for northern montgomery county, baltimore, hartford, areas north and in effect for tonight into the early hours of tomorrow morning. here we're talking additional rainfall on top of the 1 to 2 inches or more they've had in some areas. from a quarter to an inch. isolated amounts from
